The afterwhite project began at the end of winter 2008 I approached Sam Haycroft (Sydonia, I am duck eye) about the idea of combining painting and music in the one performance. Being a painter himself, luck would have it that Sam had also been weighing up the same idea in his head for sometime so it was agreed upon that we would collaborate on this ambition and take it as far as possible to as many people open enough to the concept.

We began by throwing some riffs around and jamming some minimal structures and decided our second session would involve the painting and began documenting it on film. So with a fence painting brush taped to the end of my guitar and Sam's bastardized percussion kit in arms reach of paint and canvas with sticks in hand, we eagerly began attacking the canvas with our infused medium and technique not knowing what the end result would be.
